Jed Hart

Advisor

For the past 19 years Jed has been teaching in the field of special education. First in a self-contained classroom in Trumansburg, New York, and for the past 17 years in the greater Monadnock region of New Hampshire. In 2021 Jed was a member of the founding faculty at Gathering Waters, and served as the school’s Academic Support Administrator for three years. Jed is a NH certified Elementary and K-12 Special Education Teacher that believes children (and adults) grow and learn best when their education includes outdoor and place-based experiences.

In addition to teaching, Jed has served on the Monadnock Food Co-op’s Board of Directors, and been a member of the Cheshire County Conservation District’s Farm Fund Selection Committee. Each of these experiences have served to root him into the fabric of the local community that Gathering Waters is an integral part of. His daughters are currently in first and fourth grade at the school, and Jed is deeply grateful for the holistic and humanistic education that they are enriched with every day.  

Jed lives with his wife and two daughters in Marlborough, NH, where they can be found in the garden, hiking, skiing, or building fairy houses in the sugar bush.
